July 18, 2008 2:06 p.m. EST Matt Aug - AHN Sports Editor Pawtucket, RI (AHN) - David Ortiz, aka "Big Papi" hit a big home run in a minor league rehab start Thursday, raising hopes in New England that he will soon return the Red Sox' lineup. That probably will happen in about a week, as Ortiz continues to work on his swing and heal a left wrist injury he suffered in early June. Ortiz could help the Red Sox seal the AL East, as the team already took over first-place in the division without his services. Ortiz is one of the most prolific home run hitters in the game, belting over 30-round trippers over each of the last five seasons. Although his batting average dipped 35 points below his career numbers at .252, Ortiz ripped 13 homers with 37 RBI in 54 game before the injury.
