July 18, 2008 7:38 p.m. EST Matthew Harvey - AHN Sports Reporter Cleveland, Ohio (AHN) - Browns wide receiver Joe Jurevicius' knee troubles are likely to keep him on the bench for the first six weeks of the upcoming season, the team reported Friday. Browns G.M. Phil Savage gave Cleveland fans the bad news on WTAM-AM talk radio on Thursday. The team placed Jurevicius on the physically unable to perform list. This is not the first injury for the Browns (10-6 last season) that has put the team in hot water this season. Offensive lineman Ryan Tucker went out with a broken hip, missing training camp. Then, cornerback Daven Holly went out with a blown knee. Now, their wide receiver is out - and the price will be costly. The 33-year-old receiver underwent surgery seven months ago, but caught a staph infection. Multiple attempts to relieve it have failed. While he isn't quite the long-ball threat a typical wide receiver is, he has averaged over three catches per game in his last three years, for approximately 12.5 yards a catch. Jurevicius is easily one of the most underrated receivers in the league.
