July 20, 2008 1:48 p.m. EST Jupiter Kalambakal - AHN News Writer Edmonton, Canada (AHN) - Twenty six year old John Innes of Montreal, convicted for nine years for Internet predation, was given a day parole after serving less than a year of his sentence. Innes, who posed online as 16 year old girl "Nicky," reportedly enticed two teenage girls from Alberta, one 14 year old from Airdrie and a 13 year old from Edmonton, into stripping for him via a webcam on the Internet. He pleaded guilty to child luring, extortion and child pornography. The National Parole Board reportedly said that as a first-time offender, Innes was qualified for accelerated parole and added that he was doing well in treatment and was not considered a risk to the community. However, the parole was contrary to a previous ruling, which assessed Innes as being at moderate to high risk of sexual re-offending.
