July 22, 2008 7:03 a.m. EST Matt Aug - AHN Sports Editor Washington, D.C. (AHN) - The Washington Mystics fired head coach Tree Rollins over the weekend, hoping to get a spark from a change at the helm. It worked at the outset, as the Mystics stunned the Seattle Storm 89-57 Sunday in their first game under new coach Jessie Kenlaw. Taj McWilliams-Franklin poured in 22 points and Alana racked up a career-high tying nine assists for the rejuvenated Mystics, who improved to 9-14 with the win. The Storm (15-8) who were tied for first place in West prior to the game, were stunned by the Mystics' play, as Washington was romped by nearly 60 points combined over its previous two games. Reserve Katie Gearlds led the Storm with 13 points, while Sue Bird added 11 and Camille Little had 10.
