Irish Singer Christine Tobin Wins Best Vocalist At The BBC Jazz Awards

London, England (CNS) - Irish born singer Christine Tobin has nabbed the Best Vocalist Award at the prestigious BBC Jazz Awards in London on Monday.

Tobin has been a resident of London since 1987 and has established a reputation as a creative singer. She has been described as "the Bjork of Euro Jazz."

Meanwhile, the Radio 2 Artist of the Year was posthumously given to Humphrey Lyttelton, who died in April this year at the age of 86.

Set up in 2001, the BBC Jazz Awards has the status of being one of the distinguished jazz awards in the U.K.
