Kris Alingod - AHN News Writer Washington, D.C. (AHN) - As a man shouted, "Obama, Jerusalem is not for sale," worshipers at Jerusalem's West Wall tried to shake hands with Sen. Barack Obama (D-IL) during his early morning visit on Thursday to Judaism's holiest site. Wearing a white skullcap, Obama spent a few minutes before the Wall, while a rabbi read Psalm 122. The Democratic nominee-in-waiting put a note in a crack in the Wall following custom and then spent a few moments of silence with his head bowed in prayer. The visit ends a hectic Middle East tour that included stops in Afghanistan and Iran, and a meeting with Palestinian President Mahmoud Abbas in the West Bank. Obama immediately flew to Germany, where he is scheduled to meet with Chancellor Angela Merkel and make a much-anticipated speech at Berlin's Victory Column. On Friday, Obama will meet in Paris with French President Nicolas Sarkozy. Obama will hold talks with British Prime Minister Gordon Brown, opposition leader David Cameron and British former Prime Minister Tony Blair in London before returning home to Chicago.
