July 24, 2008 7:06 p.m. EST Buddy Shacklette - AHN Motor Sports Reporter Speedway, IN (AHN) - Marcos Ambrose and JTG/Daugherty Racing aren't wasting any time. Ambrose, who will run fulltime next season in the NASCAR Sprint Cup Series for the newly formed JTG/Daughtery Racing, will attempt to qualify the No. 47 Ford for Sunday's Allstate 400 at the Brickyard at Indianapolis Motor Speedway. "This is a dream come true," Ambrose said. "I don't know if I feel quite worthy of this honor. It will take time. I've got questions I can't answer yet. As a team I think that it is a huge advantage to get out there and run against the best in the business. I'm sure that it will give us a head start on our 2009 campaign." JTG Racing currently fields Nationwide Series cars with Ambrose and Kelly Bires, but will up its stake in NASCAR next season with a fulltime Cup effort. Ambrose had a solid Cup effort at Infineon Raceway in the Wood Brothers No. 21 ride earlier this year. In preparation for his fulltime 2009 Cup campaign, Ambrose will attempt four races with the new team this season. "We've planned for this for years," said team co-owner Tad Geschickter. "It's every racer's dream to compete at the highest level. This is our first step and we're proud to take it with Little Debbie and Marcos. We have done a lot of testing leading up to this first race, and will use this weekend as our first benchmark versus the competition. We will leave this weekend with a clearer view on the things we need to work on as we prepare to run full time next season." Ambrose will attempt to make 12 appearances in Cup this season - with Wood Brothers and JTG/Daughtery - and his next scheduled start will be at Watkins Glen International on Aug. 10.
