New Movies Opening This Weekend: "Step Brothers" & "The X-Files: I Want To Believe"

Hollywood, CA (CNS) - "Step Brothers" and "The X-Files: I Want To Believe" open in wide release this weekend.

"American Teen," "Boy A," "Brideshead Revisited" and "Man on Wire" open in selected theaters.

"Step Brothers" is a comedy starring Will Ferrell and John C. Reilly. Produced by "Knocked Up's" Judd Apatow, "Step Brothers" follows a 39-year-old that lives with his mother and a forty-year-old that still lives with his father. The father and mother meet, marry and unintentionally pit the two men against each other as they are forced to live as step brothers. The movie, distributed by Sony Pictures Releasing, is rated R.

The second "X-Files" based film will be released at last on Friday. The plot of "The X-Files: I Want to Believe" has been kept under wraps, but it reunites Fox Mulder and Dana Scully as they embark on a quest for the truth. The 20th Century Fox Distribution film is rated PG-13. David Duchovny and Gillian Anderson star.

"American Teen" is a Paramount Vantage documentary that follows four teens through their senior year of high school. The teens - a jock, the popular girl, the artsy girl and the geek - make decisions about their futures as they deal with the trials of growing up. It's rated PG-13.

"Boy A" is a crime drama starring Andrew Garfield and Peter Mullan. The R-rated film follows Jack, who spent most of his young life and adolescence in juvenile institutions for committing the murder of another child. Jack is given the chance at a new life when he is released, but he must deal with his past while trying to keep it from the new people he meets.

The new films join current hits "The Dark Knight," "Mamma Mia!," "Hancock" and others.
