July 25, 2008 6:28 p.m. EST Linda Young - AHN Editor Deerfield, NH (AHN) - Officials confirmed Friday that it was a tornado that struck several towns in New Hampshire on Thursday, killing one person, destroying at least a half dozen homes and damaging at least 200 others. Thursday's twister tore through a 21-mile area of New Hampshire and was the second tornado to strike New England in as many days. Some 15 towns were affected. Nine towns, including Deerfield, where a 57-year-old grandmother was killed, suffered severe damage that included downed power lines and blocked roads. The twister left six other towns with minor damage. On Wednesday, tornadoes struck parts of Rhode Island and southeastern Massachusetts.
