July 26, 2008 12:46 p.m. EST Amy Beeman - AHN Ferguson Township, PA (AHN) -- A man who was intent on getting to a Christian radio station was killed by police during a shoot-out Friday morning. A local citizen alerted police after Brian E. Neiman, 50, walked into his store with a shotgun, saying he needed money and asking where the radio station was. The citizen told The Centre Daily News that Neiman spoke about a conspiracy and drugs, and that he needed to broadcast something that was going on in his life. By the time he found the radio station, police were already there waiting for him. Witnesses told the paper that Neiman rammed one of the police cruisers before taking aim at the officers with his shotgun. As the officers fired back, Neiman continued to drive erratically near the building, firing at police or the building and ramming another police car. Bullets flew back and forth for nearly 15 minutes before the whole thing was over at 11 a.m. Police do not know what Neiman's motivations were, and an investigation is underway by the state police department. Neiman's ex-wife told the Centre Daily News that he was diagnosed with bipolar disorder in 2005 and was known to be violent if he did not take his medication.
