Norman Vergara - AHN Sports Writer Boston, MA (AHN) - The Boston Bruins bought out right wing Glen Murray Saturday, three days after the 16-year-veteran was sent to the waivers. The buyout slices $2.9 million off the Bruins' salary cap this season while rendering Murray an unrestricted free agent who can sign up with any NHL team. Murray, who was set to earn $4.15 million, spent the last six years with Boston and had 17 goals and 13 assists with 50 penalty minutes last season. He also started his career with the Bruins, who selected him in the first round in 1991. After leaving Boston in 1995, the Halifax, Nova Scotia native also saw action for two seasons with Pittsburgh and five with Los Angeles. Since 1991, the 35-year-old Murray has scored 337 goals and 314 assists with 679 penalty minutes in over 1,000 NHL games.
