July 28, 2008 6:29 p.m. EST Jupiter Kalambakal - AHN News Writer Toronto, Ontario (AHN) - The Canadian government has joined the investigation examining the self-serve kiosks at Pearson International Airport here that have allegedly been targeted by credit card fraudsters. Pearson, Canada's busiest airport, hit the headlines last week after credit cards were being used to obtain boarding passes in its 150 check-in kiosks. National Post reported that the incident provoked Calgary-based WestJet to prevent passengers from using credit cards at check-in kiosks at airports across the country. The decision came after financial institutions began examining a series of fraud incidents at Pearson. The federal government has also reportedly asked the Greater Toronto Airport Authority to guarantee that the kiosk system is secure. A full report is expected to come out this week.
