New York, N.Y. (AHN) - The NFL suspended former Cincinnati Bengals wide receiver Chris Henry for four games Thursday. He can still play for any team as a free agent after that term.

Henry, 25, was released by the Bengals in early April following his fifth arrest. He was accused of allegedly punching a University of Cincinnati student and breaking his car window with a beer bottle.

The assault charges were later dropped

After his latest arrest, Henry was indefinitely suspended by Commissioner Roger Goodell.

Henry missed the first half of the 2007 NFL season after being suspended for his continued run-ins with the law which include possession of marijuana and providing alcohol to minors.

He applied for reinstatement and recorded 21 passes for 343 yards and two touchdowns last season.

Henry may still play for any team as a free agent, but will have to wait until Week 5 to take the field.

Henry has amassed a total of 88 receptions for 1, 370 yards and 17 touchdowns in 35 career games with the Bengals.
