Burlington, Ontario (AHN) - Great Lakes Feeder Lines Agency has launched a new shipping service connecting the ports of Halifax, Montreal and Toronto over an eight to 10-day period via the Great Lakes-St. Lawrence waterway.

Lloyds List reported that the Burlington, Ontario-based shipping line offers the first container roll on-roll off service in the Great Lakes region.

Great Lakes Feeder Lines targets clients opting for seaborne freight instead of the road and rail transport service.

Great Lakes Feeder Lines operates a multi-purpose vessel, the 221-TEU capacity Dutch Runner. Made in Germany, the ice-class ship can also carry 300 reefer containers. It is equipped with a 70-ton crane and a ro-ro ramp.
