River Falls, WI (AHN) - The Kansas City Chiefs have high hopes for defensive tackle Glenn Dorsey, the fifth overall pick in the 2008 NFL draft, but a knee sprain in practice Saturday has the team worried.

The 300-pound All-American from LSU will have to undergo an MRI on his left knee that was injured when he collided with another lineman.

Dorsey's knee was wrapped with ice after he limped off the field. Coach Herm Edwards told reporters he won't know the extent of the injury until the MRI, but believes he'll be week to week.

Dorsey's injury follows that of rookie left tackle Brandon Albert who sprained his left foot in practice Thursday against Minnesota. He is expected to be out at least a week, maybe even longer.

Dorsey, though, is the big concern because much is expected of him this season in replacing Pro Bowl defensive end Jared Allen, with the Chiefs coming off a woeful 4-12 season.

Dorsey signed a five-year, $51 million contract with Kansas City on July 26, that includes $22 million guaranteed, after a brief holdout.

Dorsey will be replaced in the starting line-up by Tank Tyler, a third-round pick in 2007. Herb Taylor, who played in one game last year as a rookie, has already replaced Albert.
