Ed Sutherland - AHN Editor Schaumburg, IL (AHN) - Motorola Monday announced it has split the company's leadership, adding a former Qualcomm executive to be co-CEO for the mobile-devices unit while Greg Brown will remain as co-CEO of broadband and network services. Sanjay Jha, 45-years old, was chief operating officer at Qualcomm, where he led the company's CDMA business. In a statement, Brown said Jha's appointment was a sign of the mobile-devices unit's strong potential. Last week, Motorola reported a surprising second-quarter profit and was able to maintain its share of the handset market. This latest move is seen as preparing for the 2009 splitting off of Motorola's trouble-plagued mobile-devices business.
