Ceco Environmental Acquires Montreal, Cincinnati Firms

Cincinnati, OH (AHN) - Air pollution control and ventilation systems provider Ceco Environmental Corp. announced Monday it plans to purchase Montreal, Quebec-based Flextor Inc. and AVC Specialists Inc. of Moorpark, California.
The acquisitions were in two separate transactions, according to a spokesman for the Cincinnati, Ohio-based company. Financial details were not disclosed, however, payments for the purchase will be in cash.
Ceco plans to merge the two companies as one operational entity. The company plans to expand globally, and with the new acquisitions, Ceco sees "tremendous opportunities for growth."
Flextor fabricates dampers and expansion joints for the power, natural gas, cement, smelting, incineration, and other industries. Most of its clients are outside North America. It has units in Chile and Brazil.
AVC Specialists manufactures precipitator components and markets after-sales services. It has clients in the power, refining, petrochemical, pulp and paper, cement, and other industries, most of which are in the U.S.
Ceco is North America's biggest air pollution control company.
