Organ Recipients Compete In Canadian Transplant Games

Windsor, Ontario (AHN) - More than 400 athletes, who were recipients of organ donations, will compete in Windsor, Ontario in the fourth Canadian Transplant Games.

This was the first time that the biennial Transplant Games has been held in the in the province. Opening ceremonies were held at the Dieppe Park.

On Tuesday, organ beneficiaries will participate in sporting events including cycling, bowling and swimming. The youngest participant is five-years-old and the oldest, 76, according to the Canadian Press.

The rare sporting event aims to raise public awareness on the need for organ donations. The event will end Saturday.
