Ed Sutherland - AHN Editor New York, NY (AHN) - Stocks climbed higher in early trading as investors reacted to news Tropical Storm Edouard will leave Gulf of Mexico oil rigs undamaged and a stronger dollar. The Dow opened up 108 points. At 10:25 a.m., the Dow Jones Industrial Average was up 161 points at 11,445. The broader Standard and Poor's 500 index was gaining 17 points at 1,266. The tech-heavy Nasdaq Composite was advancing 3. points at 2,317. Crude oil prices again were lower, falling $1.76 to $119.65 a barrel on the New York Mercantile Exchange. Gold was down $14.90 at $893 an ounce.
