"Heroes" Star Hayden Panettiere's Dad Arrested For Beating Up Mom

Los Angeles, CA (CNS) - Hayden Panettiere's dad has been arrested for allegedly striking her mom early Monday morning.

Los Angeles Sheriff's Department sources tell TMZ that Alan Panettierre was taken into custody on a felony count of domestic violence. He is said to have beaten wife Lesley in the face around 3 in the morning.

The couple were apparently at a party earlier in the evening when the dad became upset because mom was "hanging" with someone else and he felt she was "disrespecting" him. When they reached home, they began fighting and he struck her in the cheek.

His bail is set on $50,000.

It is not yet known if the "Heroes" star, 18, and her brother Jansen, 13, were at home during the incident.
