Wrist Surgery Sidelines British Golfer Donald For The Season

New York, N.Y. (AHN) - Britain's Luke Donald will be sidelined for the rest of the 2008 PGA schedule including the Ryder Cup, after undergoing a wrist surgery on Monday.
Donald, 30, a member of two victorious European teams, underwent surgery on Monday to repair a tendon injury in his wrist in New York.
Donald sustained the injury after hitting a drive on the 15th hole at Torrey Pines in June.
He failed to finish the final round of the U.S. Open.
Donald attempted to rehabilitate the injury but subsequently opted for surgery.
This year, Donald recorded three top-10 finishes with earnings reaching to about $1.5 million.
He has won two major tournaments and has a total earnings of $12.8 million in his PGA career.
Donald is given the green light to undergo strengthening in six weeks before being able to play after three months.
The European team's roster for this year's Ryder Cup will be finalized in three weeks.
