August 19, 2008 8:43 p.m. EST Matthew Harvey - AHN Sports Reporter Beijing, China (AHN) -- Three-time gold medal Olympic baseball champion Cuba went down hard on Monday against the gold medal hopefuls of South Korea, 7-4. The South Koreans seem to be on a warpath, adding Cuba to the list of bested opponents - one which includes the United States, in an 8-7 bloodbath, and Japan. While Cuba took an early lead by three in the second inning, the Koreans were able to make up ground and limit the Cubans to only one more run while they crawled out of the basement. Powered by a two-run single in the fourth by Ko Young-min, the Koreans were able to battle back and scored five runs in one inning. In the eighth, Cuba's Pedro Lazo threatened with an RBI single, but reliever Yoon Suk-min was quick to retire three in a row to end the threat. At the moment, Korea is the only undefeated team in Olympic baseball, as they advance into the medal round.
