LeRoi Moore, Saxophonist And Founding Member Of The Dave Matthews Band, Dies At 46

Los Angeles, CA (CNS) - Dave Matthews Band founding member and saxophonist LeRoi Moore has died of complications from his June ATV accident on Tuesday. He was 46.

Moore suffered broken ribs and punctured lungs after he was involved in an All-Terrain Vehicle accident on his farm outside Charlottesville, Virginia on June 30.

He was hospitalized for several days, was released but he was re-hospitalized in mid-July for complications.

He died at the Hollywood Presbyterian Medical Center in Los Angeles from complications on Tuesday.

A message written on the band's website confirms his death.

It reads: "We are deeply saddened that LeRoi Moore, saxophonist and founding member of Dave Matthews Band, died unexpectedly Tuesday afternoon, August 19, 2008, at Hollywood Presbyterian Medical Center in Los Angeles from sudden complications stemming from his June ATV accident on his farm near Charlottesville, Virginia."

"LeRoi had recently returned to his Los Angeles home to begin an intensive physical rehabilitation program."
