August 21, 2008 9:12 a.m. EST Anne Lu - Celebrity News Service News Writer Pennabilli, Italy (BANG) - George Clooney bought a $28,000 car for a motorist whose vehicle he hit in a road accident. The "Ocean's Thirteen" actor shunted a female driver's Lancia Ypsilon from behind with his large sedan while out in Pennabilli, Italy. He accepted full blame for the accident and left the surprised woman a replacement vehicle with a note of apology attached to the windscreen. It read: "I'm so sorry. Hope you'll forgive me. George Clooney." This is not the first car accident for the 47-year-old heartthrob. Last September, Clooney was rushed to hospital after a car knocked him and then-girlfriend Sarah Larson off his motorcycle. The star suffered a fractured rib and burns, while Larson broke her foot. A spokesman for the actor insisted it was the fault of the Mazda driver involved while the accused claims the "Syriana" actor was attempting to overtake him on the right, a maneuver banned in New Jersey where the accident happened.
