Los Angeles, CA (CNS) - Steven Adler, the drummer who famously associated with rock band Guns N' Roses, has pleaded not guilty on Wednesday to drug charges stemming from his July arrest.

Adler, 43, was arrested at his Los Angeles home in July for felony charge drug of possession of a controlled substance, an opiate, and being under the influence of the drugs.

He was accompanied by a friend and therapist when he showed up in court. He must now remain in rehab for at least another month until his September 17 preliminary hearing.

Adler became emotional and openly cried in court after Judge James Bianco remanded him to rehab.

The musician had allowed VH1's "Celebrity Rehab with Dr. Drew" to follow him while he sought treatment at the Pasadena Recovery Center. The show's second season will premiere in October.

Adler was an original member of the rock band before he was fired in 1990.
