CNS Music Survey: Miley Cyrus's Brother's Band Rockin' In '80s Style

Los Angeles, CA (CNS ) - Pop star Miley Cyrus has proven musical genes run in her family -- her dad is country singer Billy Ray Cyrus -- and her older brother has a band also. The band, Metro Station, has just released a new music video.

Miley's brother, 19-year-old Trace Cyrus, is in Metro Station with Mason Musso, brother of "Hannah Montana" star Mitchel Musso. Despite the band's Disney connection, Metro Station isn't a Disney-style band.

Trace, who sports tattoos and facial piercing, said his musical style comes from '80s hair bands like Poison, Rat and White Snake. He said that even his style of dress - tight pants and lots of black - comes from that era. The look and sound of Metro Station is far from Disney also, but that doesn't mean the band doesn't have fans.

One of those fans is, of course, younger sister Miley. "They're awesome," she reportedly said earlier this year.

Celebrity News Service surveyed "Hannah Montana" fans to find out what they think of Miley's older brother's band. "It's totally different than Miley and her look and sound," one fan said. "I liked them a little, but I love Miley."

Metro Station, who is about to finish a summer tour with the band Good Charlotte, will hit the road in the fall to headline their own tour in support of their self-titled debut album. The music video for their electronic-rock hit "Shake It" will debut on Yahoo! Music later this week.
