Knoxville, TN (AHN) - A 16-year-old student who was shot inside the cafeteria at Knoxville's Central High School Thursday morning has died, according to reports.

Ryan McDonald died at the University of Tennessee Medical Center. It was not a random shooting, the suspect in the shooting knew the victim and and the pair briefly argued before the victim was shot. The suspect is now in police custody, the weapon was also recovered.

About 1,400 students attend the school, which was placed on lock down after the shooting. The students were reportedly evacuated class-by-class by bus to another location where their parents could pick them up.

Although other schools were not affected, any parents who wanted to pick their children up from Knox County elementary or middle-schools were being allowed to do so.
