Rome, Italy (AHN) - An Italian priest organized an online beauty contest for nuns to overcome the notion that nuns are boring and old-fashioned.

The organizer, Italian priest Rev. Antonio Rungi, also a theologian and a teacher from the Naples area, said the pageant will pave the way for the nuns to be visible within the Catholic Church.

Rungi also added that the "Miss Sister 2008" will officially open on September on a blog with visitors voting for their favorite nun, whom they consider to be a model.

The priest also said visitors to his website will not find any nuns wearing bathing suits during the pageant.
