Columbus, OH (AHN) - Columbus Crew member Guillermo Barros Schelotto won MLS Player of the Week award again, marking the third time this season he garnered the award.

Named previously in the third and 17th weeks for the honor, his performance against Real Salt Lake last Saturday was enough to sway the votes.

Schelotto's rival from the LA Galaxy, forward Landon Donovan, is also a three-time honoree.

In a game the Crew won 3-0, he scored one of the goals, and assisted in the other two.

Schelotto has just been a workhorse for Columbus ever since he was signed early last season. He was voted MVP last year, netting five goals with 11 assists.

This year, he currently leads the league in assists, 14 total, bettering his own 2007 record.

Thus far, the Crew have been having an explosive season, with 11-6-4 as their tally.

They have successfully caught up with the New England Revolution, and threaten to pull ahead.

The MLS Soccer Player of the Week is selected by journalists from The North American Soccer Reporters - all forms of media are included.
