August 27, 2008 7:20 a.m. EST Matt Aug - AHN Sports Editor Eastlake, OH (AHN) - A minor league baseball fan won a prize Monday that he hopes to be able to wait before cashing in on: an all-expenses paid funeral. Euclid resident Ed Struna won a free casket, burial vault, visitation and other standard funeral features, all provided by Monreal Funeral Home. Struna garnered the $6,000 value giveaway thanks to the Lake County Captains minor league baseball team, a Class A affiliate of the Cleveland Indians. "Life is difficult when you lose someone close to you, you need an experienced funeral home during your time of loss, " Funeral Home Director Jeff Monreal said in a press release. "[We have] been serving the Cleveland area for over 116 years. Giving away a free funeral is one way we can say thank you to the community," he added. This is a "parting gift" that even Drew Carey can't possibly match. The South Atlantic League team's championship bid is very much "alive", as the Captains begin the playoffs next week.
