August 27, 2008 7:16 p.m. EST Jojo Doria - AHN Calgary, Canada (AHN) - The rebuilding Calgary Flames introduced five of the team's offseason acquisitions at the Saddledome Tuesday, including former Vancouver Canucks star Todd Bertuzzi. The 33-year-old Bertuzzi, who registered one of his best seasons while playing for the Canucks in t2002-03, was signed to a one-year, $1.95 million contract by the Flames in July. Last season, Bertuzzi registered 40 points while playing for the Anaheim Ducks in 68 matches before being placed on waivers in June. The controversial power forward got involved in a devastating check which ended the career of former Colorado Avalanche player Steve Moore in 2004. Bertuzzi was later sentenced to a one-year probation after pleading guilty to assault charges filed against him. Aside from Bertuzzi, the Flames also introduced former Los Angeles Kings center Michael Cammalleri, who was traded in exchange for Calgary's 17th overall draft pick. The 26-year-old prolific winger tallied 47 points (19-28) while playing for the Kings last season. He is expected to play a key role in the offensive rotation after Alex Tanguay left for Montreal. Also presented in the event were former Edmonton forward Curtis Glencross, former Tampa Bay Lightning enforcer Andre Roy and winger Rene Bourgue. With the latest addition, Calgary is hoping to shake off a disappointing finish last season and advance to the playoffs.
