August 29, 2008 2:59 p.m. EST Linda Young - AHN Editor Bismark, ND (AHN) - Minot Air Force Base has been rocked by recent problems with employees that include three ballistic missile crew members sleeping through a critical test and two officers allegedly taking home classified documents. Air Force spokeswoman Maj. Laurie A. Arellano has been busy this week, issuing mostly bad news of military personnel who have been disciplined for alleged misconduct. Three crew members fell asleep on July 12 when sensitive electronic parts used to communicate with the air force base were being changed out, according to reports Friday. The three were reportedly in control of a classified electronic part that contained old launch codes for intercontinental nuclear missiles. They have been given written reprimands and will lose pay for two months. On Thursday, Arellano announced that two officers had allegedly taken home classified components used in underground launch control centers. They have been temporarily taken off the job. This incident reportedly happened in July 2005 and is now under investigation.
