Linda Young - AHN Editor Detroit, MI (AHN) - General Motors is recalling 944,000 sport utility vehicles, trucks and passenger cars because a faulty windshield wiper fluid system could short-circuit and lead to an electrical fire. Only vehicles with a heated washer fluid system are affected, there have been nine reports of vehicle fires. Recalled are: 2007-2008 model Chevrolet Silverado, Tahoe, Avalanche and Suburban, Cadillac Escalade, Escalade ESV and Escalade EXT, GMC Acadia, Sierra, Yukon XL, and Saturn Outlook; 2006-2008 Hummer H2, Cadillac DTS and Buick Lucerne; and the 2008 Buick Enclave. The recall affects 850,000 sport utility vehicles, trucks and passenger cars in the United States, the remainder of the vehicles are in other countries.
