September 1, 2008 9:14 p.m. EST Windsor Genova - AHN News Writer Mountain View, CA (AHN) - Search engine giant Google will launch the beta version of its open source browser called Chrome in 100 countries on Tuesday. Chrome will initially be available for Windows-based computers, but versions for Linux and Apple operating systems will also be launched soon. Google described Chrome as streamlined, simple, clean and fast, according to ZDNet.com. Chrome will compete with Microsoft Corp.'s Internet Explorer and Mozilla Corp.'s Firefox, although the latter is being bankrolled by the search engine. The most popular browser, IE, controls 58 percent of the browser market with Firefox getting a 19 percent share, according to Janco Partners.
