September 3, 2008 10:18 a.m. EST Anne Lu - Celebrity News Service News Writer Los Angeles, CA (CNS) - The upcoming "Superman" film might come in 3's. According to comic book author Mark Millar, he is toying with the idea to make the new Man of Steel movie a trilogy. After Warner Bros.' announcement that they have decided to create a remake of the "Superman" film rather than a sequel to the 2006 movie, Millar reveals that he wants it in three parts, just like "Lord of the Rings." He told G4 TV, "I've had this plan for like 10 years for a big three-picture Superman thing, like a Lord of the Rings epic, starting over from scratch again with a seven-hour Superman story. One to be released each year." Although Millar says there's nothing definite yet, he hopes to get word over the next few weeks so that they'll be shooting next summer. 2006's "Superman Returns," which starred Brandon Routh as the titular character, didn't exactly live up to expectations in the box office, with relatively modest gross of less than $400 million worldwide.
