Powers Catholic Bags Team Title At Michigan's Big Nine Tourney

Flint, MI (AHN) - Allison Sears of Powers Catholic shot a 4-over-par 9 helping the Powers Catholic finish with 335 to win the team title at the Big Nine's preseason tournament Tuesday.

Grand Blanc's Shana Bauer also fired a 4-over-par 9 for a 79, tying Sears for the top shot and joining the list of players who managed to break 80.

Powers' No. 1 player this year, Ashley Swanson finished third with 80, while Emily Lindsay of Davison came in fourth with 83.

Chloe Lawrie of Powers shot an 87 to share fifth with Grand Blanc's Sara Dolan and Michelle Hall and Kasey Parks of Flushing.

Powers, winner of the season-opening tournament in Traverse City, became the first Chargers team to win a Big Nine tournament since 1994.

Grand Blanc finished second with a team total 361 followed by Davison which amassed 363.
