September 7, 2008 11:51 a.m. EST Matt Aug - AHN Sports Editor Greenville, NC (AHN) - East Carolina pulled off its second straight stunner Saturday, knocking off No. 7 West Virginia 24-3. East Carolina's defense starred, holding quarterback Pat White to just 72 passing yards and sacking him three times. White was his team's leading rusher, also not a good sign, rolling up 97 yards on 20 carries. The Pirates offense was more spread out and effective, led by Jonathan Williams' pair of touchdown runs that covered five and one yards. Patrick Pinkney passed to Alex Taylor for a 13-yard score in the second quarter, as ECU also flashed its effective aerial attack. Pinkney completed 22-of-28 pass attempts for 236 yards and the TD. ECU toppled Virginia Tech in its opener last week in Charlotte and is 2-0 on the season. West Virginia fell to 1-1.
