September 9, 2008 7:13 a.m. EST Linda Young - AHN Editor Eagan, MN (AHN) - Northwest Airlines Corp. plans to reduce its fuel surcharges for cargo customers later this month because jet fuel prices have declined. The Eagan, Minnesota-based company had raised fuel surcharges several times this summer following increased fuel prices. Company officials said the carrier will implement fuel surcharge decreases on Sept. 15. Fuel surcharges for shipments within the U.S. drop by 50 cents to 46 cents per pound. There will be similar drops for shipments from the U.S. to other countries as well.
