2009 Hooters Swimsuit Calendar To Be Unveiled In New York

New York, NY (CNS) - Men in New York should clear their schedules, as Hooters will be launching the 23rd edition 2009 Swimsuit Calendar in New York City at the Manhattan Restaurant.

While the restaurant Hooters is celebrating their 25th anniversary, the girls of the calendar will be helping the Manhattan restaurant celebrate 11 years in the Big Apple by launching the newest calendar on October 6 and October 7.

The world famous calendar was shot on location in Hawaii, St. Martins and Tampa. The magazine features cover girl Stephanie Belknap, Adrean Butler, Nicole Ciglar, LeAngela Davis, Sara Hoots and Vanessa Ferbeyre. The public will get the chance to meet the girls behind the shoot on October 7 at the Manhattan restaurant.

The distribution for the new calendar has been estimated to be at a half million worldwide. The new edition will be filled with photos of the Hooters Girls, jokes of the day, and fun graphic elements.

Publisher and partner in the calendar, Chuck Melcher, talks about the new edition saying, "Our calendar had to be different. Anyone can make one you can write appointments and birthdays in, but we wanted to create a calendar that would actually make your day better. Between the girls and the jokes, I think we've managed to accomplish that."

The girls in the calendar are chosen by submitting photos of themselves, which are looked at by the Photo Crew for consideration. Several of the girls are then selected from each Hooters market for a professional shoot, mostly in fun locations such as Aspen, Las Vegas, Florida or the Caribbean.

After the shoot photos are submitted, Vollmer and the Hooters Calendar Photo Crew narrow down the pics, which are then reviewed at the annual "Photo Selection Convention" held in Clearwater, Florida, home of the original Hooters. Owners, franchisee groups, marketing associates and special celebrity guest then vote for the girls.

The 2009 Hooters calendar girls will spend the rest of the year traveling around the country, doing signings and appearing on radio and television programs.
