Miami, FL (CNS) - With the deadline to register to vote quickly looming, the push to get Americans to sign up to take part in the November 4 presidential election continues.

While the deadline in many states to register to vote in the November presidential election is Monday, October 6, many musicians are offering free concerts as a way to get the word out.

Seven-time Grammy Award-winning recording artist Jay-Z is one of those musicians, who will perform a free major voter registration rally at Miami's Bayfront Park Amphitheater on Sunday, October 5. The concert, which was announced by Barack Obama's Campaign for Change, is an effort to encourage young people to get involved and register to vote.

To vote in the November election, in Florida for example, registration applications must be postmarked or hand-delivered to Supervisors of Elections Offices by October 6.

The Jay-Z concert is only open to people 18 years and older.
