New Wax Figure Of Swimmer Michael Phelps Not Very Flattering To Golden Boy

Beijing, China (CNS) - With all of the hype and glory that U.S. swimmer Michael Phelps brought to the 2008 Summer Beijing Olympics by winning eight gold medals, it seems only fair that the National Museum Wax Art exhibition would unveil a wax figure of the world's greatest Olympian.

They did unveil the figure, but sadly, poor Michael Phelps doesn't look like he just won eight gold medals, despite the fact that he has the eight gold medals hanging around his neck. Instead, Phelps looks like he should head over to Disney World and take part in the Dumbo ride. Not take part actually, but be Dumbo.

The new wax figure of Phelps features rather large stick-out ears and creepy eyebrows -- suffice it to say the wax people got it wrong. Phelps should be insulted, in fact swimmers everywhere should be insulted.

While Phelps may have large ears, they are certainly not as large as the ones on his wax counterpart. The only thing we can say is maybe Phelps was swimming so fast in the Beijing water that the artists couldn't get a good look at him because on all eight of his wins he was one big blur as he raced to gold.

Sorry about the wax figure Phelps, but don't worry -- we still think you are the greatest.
