New York, NY (CNS) - Presidential hopeful Barack Obama has a message to the hip-hop community: "I need you." The Democrat candidate has posted a letter for the readers of Vibe magazine, saying they need to register and vote for him.
With half of his face gracing the cover of the November issue of the urban music magazine, Obama is asking for the help of the readers on his candidacy.
He writes on a page dedicated entirely to him, "We are at a defining moment in our history."
"I am running for president to take this country in a new direction. But I can't do it alone. I need you."
"Whether it's the first time, or the first time in a long time, I need you to register and vote on November 4."
This is Obama's second time to be featured on the cover of the R&B and hip-hop monthly magazine. He was also featured in the September 2007 issue.
Vibe magazine also endorses the Democrat representative, the first presidential endorsement they made.
