Ryder Systems Acquires Canadian Logistics Firms, Expands To Asia

Miami, Fl (AHN) - Transport and hauling company Ryder System, Inc. announced Friday that it has acquired all the assets of Canadian logistics firms Transpacific Container Terminal Ltd. and CRSA Logistics expanding its foothold in Canadian and Asian markets.

The Miami, Florida-based logistics company said the purchase will allow Ryder to operate consolidation services in key Asian hubs and deconsolidation operations in key cities in Canada.

CRSA, based in Port Coquitlam, British Columbia, provides trans-Pacific end-to-end transportation management and supply chain services for Canadian retailers. Ryder will also takeover CRSA operations in Hong Kong and Shanghai, China.

TCTL, also based in Coquitlam, operates a Canadian network of off-dock import /export container terminal facilities. It has facilities in Vancouver, Toronto and Montreal.

Subject to closing conditions, the companies are expected to close the transaction in November. Financial details of the deal were not disclosed.
