San Diego Fashion Week Finally Debuts After Its Postponement Last Month

San Diego, CA (CNS) - After its postponement last month, the San Diego Fashion Week has finally made it through, making its debut after concerns and doubts about its credibility plagued the fashion event.

Although after the show was deferred last month following organizer Allison Andrews' injury, it finally kicked off on October 2nd and ended on the 5th.

However, things didn't go smoothly, with some of the original plans being scrapped at the last minute.

The shows for the week were supposed to be held in a big, white tent, but instead, there was only one show on Friday in the Manchester Grand Hyatt's Kin Lounge. Saturday and Sunday were rescheduled for parties at the Hard Rock Hotel and On Broadway.

The outdoor lounge on Friday showcased ten regional designers' collections on the catwalk. And although the event was redolent of a Southern California feel with the runway extending into the pool, it was not all fun during the evening event.

The postponement of the event still lingered as an issue during the week.

Designer Corella was quoted by signonsandiego.com as saying, "Allison talked up the event and told us never to minimize anything."

"In the end, she minimized the show to one night. Fashion Week San Diego didn't deliver on any of its promises and I refuse to be a part of it anymore."
