New York, NY (CNS) - Hollywood screen legend Clint Eastwood thinks Angelina Jolie and U.S. vice presidential candidate Sarah Palin both have a star quality that scares people off.

The "Changeling" director says he has nothing but admiration for the film's star Jolie and the Alaskan governor, saying that although the two women are "totally different types," they have something that people are afraid of.

He said, "I am saying there is a star quality (they have) that scares a lot of people off."

For Eastwood, he thinks Jolie's great talents are hampered by her face, which he describes as "the most gorgeous face on the planet."

He tells People magazine, "But she is a great talent, and it would be easy to overlook that, except after seeing this you realize that she is this great, talented person."

"Dirty Harry" also defends the Republican VP bet saying, "When you find somebody people want to put down, it usually means there is something there they are afraid of," referring to Palin being the subject of numerous jokes since entering the election.

"Changeling" premiered in North America on October 4.
