London, England (AHN) - Captain John Terry has been ruled out of England's World Cup qualifier at Wembley stadium Saturday due to back injury.

The Chelsea defender aggravated a nagging back injury during the Blue's Champions League match against CFR Cluj last week.

He had limited participation in the team's training Wednesday and was forced to miss all of Tuesday's session and the workout Thursday.

Expected to compete for his place are Joleon Lescott, Wes Brown and Matthew Upson.

Meanwhile, fellow center-back Rio Ferdinand will take the armband for the team.
