October 12, 2008 7:20 a.m. EST AHN Staff St. Helena, CA (AHN) - Over 1,500 firefighters worked Saturday to contain a blaze near this wine country town that had scorched about 300 acres. The California Department of Forestry and Fire Protection reported the blaze as 70 percent under control as of Saturday afternoon, and expected firefighters to finish it off Sunday. A CalFire spokesperson reported two structures were destroyed in the blaze, while 200 homes and many wineries were threatened. The cause of the fire is still under investigation.
