October 12, 2008 5:35 p.m. EST Kareem Shaker - AHN Sports Reporter Las Vegas, NV (AHN) - Antonio Tarver lost his IBF light heavyweight belt after dropping a 12-round unanimous decision to challenger Chad Dawson Saturday night. The event was held at the Pearl inside the Palms Hotel and Casino. Dawson sent Tarver to the canvas several times, lastly with an uppercut less than one minute into the final round. The 39-year old Tarver was worn out by the younger, more active Dawson, who defeated the biggest name opponent of his career. Two of the ringside judges scored the bout 117-110 while a third saw it 118-109 for Dawson, who displayed more speed and power than his veteran foe.
