Miami, FL (CNS) -- Penn Badgley and Blake Lively, stars of the hit CW series "Gossip Girl," urge you to "talk to your parents about John McCain." The new 30-second ad by MoveOn.org, a liberal political action committee which has raised millions of dollars for progressive issues and Democratic candidates, features the young stars pressing parents to think twice before voting for the Republican nominee for Presidency. Badgley, holding up a McCain/Palin trucker hat, looks into the camera and deadpans: "Mom, Dad, I found this in your room today." The pro-Obama ad, a spoof on PSAs that usually urge parents to talk to their kids about things like drugs, alcohol or sex, features young actors talking about the risks of voting for John McCain. "Just because other people your age are doing it, doesn't make it cool," says one actor. In association with the website McCainFreeWhiteHouse.org, the site also features warning signs for people who may be dealing with a McCain voter and also a how-to guide on how to speak to parents about "unpleasant issues like John McCain." "And if you're ever out somewhere and you're thinking about voting for John McCain, just call me and I'll pick you up," Gossip Girl star Lively says in the ad. "No questions asked." The 30-second promo was directed by feature film director Doug Liman, who is best known for the action thrillers "The Bourne Identity" and "Mr. and Mrs. Smith." Badgley and Lively are not the first CW stars to come out in support of Barack Obama. One Tree Hill star Sophia Bush has been quoted as saying, "I'm a Bush, and I'm supporting Obama."
