Oilers Slip Past Slumping Ducks; Win Second Straight

Anaheim, CA (AHN) - Lubomir Visnovsky tallied a power-play goal in the third period to help the Edmonton Oilers notch a 3-2 win over the slumping Anaheim Ducks Wednesday night.

The win marked the second straight for the Oilers.

Tied at 2-2, Edmonton took advantage of a short-handed Ducks squad.

Visnovsky blasted a shot past Anaheim goalie Jonas Hiller at 2:41 into the final period, giving Edmonton a 3-2 advantage.

Mathieu Garon recorded 33 saves, while Shawn Horcott and Sheldon Souray each tallied goals in the Edmonton win.

Edmonton improves to a 9-3-1 record against the Ducks in their last four meetings.

Kent Huskins and Rob Niedermayer accounted for the two goals as Anaheim drops to a 0-4-0 mark.

Hiller turned away 25 shots in his first start of the season for the Ducks.
